Meet Our Family

A Taste of The Hills is run and funded by our little Adelaide Hills family. It grew from a simple love for where we live and a deep passion for supporting the incredible local businesses and producers that make this region so special. Our family has lived in the Adelaide Hills for more than forty years on our property in Mount George, and the Hills have always been home.

We founded the festival in 2023 in our own backyard, and 600 people walked through our gate that first year. Today, the festival has grown far beyond anything we expected! We now partner with more than 100 local businesses and welcome over 4000 attendees each year. The support we have received for both the event and the region has been overwhelming in the very best way.

A Festival Born in Our Backyard

What started as a small horse-paint-and-sip idea at our home in the Adelaide Hills unexpectedly grew into a full festival. (And yes, there were horses at the very first one!). As we reached out to local businesses for these fun and slightly quirky horsey activities, we kept hearing the same stories again and again. The impact of the 2019 Bushfires, followed closely by Covid-19, had hit our region hard. Local communities, businesses, tourism and the wider Hills economy were all still feeling the effects.

Those conversations sparked something in us. We decided to throw a party in our backyard to bring everyone together, to celebrate the incredible Adelaide Hills, and to give our region a little extra love after everything it had been through. That simple idea, born from a mix of creativity, community spirit and a whole lot of heart, became the beginning of A Taste of The Hills Festival.
